Building Connections Across the Region
January kept Kibble Equipment’s recruiting team on the road. From southern Minnesota to eastern South Dakota, the team met students where they are—inside classrooms, shops, and career events. Most importantly, each visit created real conversations about careers in agriculture and diesel technology.
First, the team attended the Sleepy Eye OJT event in Sleepy Eye, MN. Students explored hands-on pathways and asked direct questions about technician roles. In turn, the recruiting team shared practical insight about training, certifications, and advancement.
Next, the team visited Canby High School in Canby, MN. There, students learned how a dealership operates day to day. The team explained service, parts, and precision ag roles in clear terms. As a result, students gained a better understanding of how their skills can translate into long-term careers.
Inside the Classroom and the Shop
Throughout the month, classroom engagement remained a priority. At Owatonna High School, the team led mock interviews and coached students through common interview questions. Students practiced responses. They refined their resumes. They built confidence.
Meanwhile, in Marshall, MN, students experienced both a shop tour and sophomore career day. During the tour, they walked through active service bays and saw equipment up close. Then, at career day, the team outlined career paths and answered questions about certification programs and growth opportunities. Because students saw the environment firsthand, they connected more easily with the possibilities.
In Milbank, SD, a classroom visit continued that momentum. The team discussed local opportunities and emphasized the value of technical careers. Students engaged in open dialogue and explored what a future in the equipment industry could look like.
Looking Ahead to February
The outreach does not slow down in February. The team will return to Milbank High School for a shop tour, giving students another chance to experience the dealership environment in person.
In addition, Kibble Equipment will attend the Brookings Career Fair in Brookings, SD. This event will connect the team with a broad range of students and job seekers. Conversations will focus on long-term growth, John Deere certifications, and leadership development.
A Passion for Showing Up
Above all, Kibble Equipment values these opportunities. Career events and classroom visits allow the team to build relationships early. They also strengthen connections within the communities the company serves.
By showing up consistently, the recruiting team helps students see clear pathways forward. And because agriculture depends on skilled professionals, investing time in students today supports the industry tomorrow.
