Position Summary
As the Shop Foreman – Turf and Utility, you’ll lead a team of John Deere Turf and Utility Technicians and who share a passion for small engine mechanics and strive for excellent customer experience. We’re seeking individuals who enjoy working independently as well as developing and coaching other technicians.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform setup, maintenance, and repair tasks for John Deere lawn and garden equipment.
- Participate in assessing repair orders with technicians and supporting repairs as needed.
- Provide guidance and aid in diagnosing machine problems for technicians and apprentices.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure excellent customer service and experience.
- Foster positive and respectful interactions with customers and colleagues.
- Report all customer complaints to the Service Manager.
- Maintain the condition of inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
- Support the Service Manager in organizing and conducting quarterly safety meetings.
- Take on the role of Service Manager in their absence.
- Approve the release of equipment for delivery to customers.
- Assist in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff.
- Assist in tracking and scheduling Product Improvement Programs.
- Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
- Stay updated on John Deere and competitive equipment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in service repair with strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems relevant to turf equipment and small engines.
- Capability to execute basic repairs and maintenance using specialized tools and equipment, following Technical Manual procedures.
- Experience in team leadership and collaborative teamwork.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with team members and customers.
- Ability to use required working applications: Service Advisor, Microsoft Office applications, and other John Deere or business specific systems.
- Must possess an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
- Willingness to work Saturdays and extended hours during peak business season
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated track record of meeting service performance metrics preferred.
- Leading people or team members (preferably in a Service or Operations role).
- Familiarity with John Deere systems and products.
- Associate’s Degree preferred.

Compensation
The following represents Brandt Holdings compensation estimation based on market data and placement of internal employees. This is an hourly role with a starting base of $26.00/hr. and going up to $30.00/hr. based on experience.
